If you’re a MAC fan, especially if you’re a MAC fan living in sunny California, you probably already know about this little promotion they have going on… If you’re one of the lucky recipients of this postcard and/or email you get a free full sized lipstick compliments of MAC!
Yes, this is only for us California girls but I imagine they’ll be doing this state by state, I mean, it’s only fair! I went over to MAC today with a friend of mine to redeem my email. All I had to do was hand the MUA my print out, tell her my name and she handed me my new lipstick. Easy enough, right?
So this is what it looks like…

It’s quite… pink, eh? Barbie pink comes it mind. Admittedly, it’s not the most universally flattering shade but I’m sure it can be used in conjunction with another shade of gloss or lipstick to perk it up a bit. What can I say? It’s free, so beggars can’t be choosers! ;)

Totally forgot to post this! :) Just a few things I ordered from Sephora a week ago.

I’m almost out of my 2nd pot of Benefit Boi-ing concealer & rather than buying another, I wanted to try out something new so I chose Make Up For Ever (MUFE) Camouflage Cream concealer in Golden Beige 15 ($18). So far I really, really like it! It’s thicker than Boi-ing & the coverage is awesome. It doesn’t crease nor fade away. What I love is, I don’t need to use a lot which is great in the long run since it’ll last much longer. For $18 you get .24oz whereas for the same price Boi-ing is only at .1oz. Definitely a keeper! :)

I love MAC’s Fluidlines but sometimes (when I’m in a rush) its so much easier to pick up a pencil haha. I bought Urban Decay’s 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencils in ‘Covet‘ & ‘Honey‘ ($16/each) because I’ve read & heard so much about them! I’ve been looking for a nice green eye liner & Covet is a gorgeous emerald green. Honey was a total impulse buy & I’m so glad I got it, it’s awesome. They really do stay on all day! I had a hard time getting them off heh. I hope to snap up a few other colors soon.

This Cargo bronzer was a free ‘deluxe’ sample since I’m part of their Beauty Insider program. I don’t use bronzer during the summer (because, uh I tan lol) but this will come in handy during fall/winter. ;)
Gotta love neutrals! When I read about the Neo Sci-Fi collection on Specktra I was very intrigued & excited. As much as I like my pinks, purples, greens & (sometimes) blues, I normally stick to natural/neutral make-up looks so this colour story was right up my alley. Sure the bright/neon orange packaging is a little jarring but that’s what makes it fun & make-up is supposed to be fun right? ;)

I have to start off with the lip products I picked up because I feel they’re the best things out of the whole collection. :) I know I’ve a ton of lipglasses & lipsticks already but ‘Pink Grapefruit‘ ($14) is a gorgeous coral red w/ gold shimmer. I had second thoughts about this shade as I don’t normally go for corals but upon seeing the swatches I just fell for the colour. It’s so pretty by itself & combined with ‘Sci Fidelity‘ ($14) lipstick.

Next up are the eye shadows in ‘Evening Aura‘, ‘Expensive Pink‘, ‘Time & Space‘, ‘Magnetic Fields‘ & ‘Femme-Fi‘ ($14/each). Even though ‘Expensive Pink‘ is a permanent shade I figured I might as well get it now. I probably won’t depot these (not that I’ve been doing that anyway. I really should though, so I’d have more space!). The bright orange colour makes it easier to find heh.

I thought ‘Spaced Out‘ blush ($17.50) was really pretty, it’s a shimmery peach shade. It reminds me of Benefit’s Georgia Peach actually. I really like it because it’s soft & not too shimmery.

When the beauty powder blushes came out a few months ago I was all set to get 5 of them but thought it over & only ended up getting Shy Beauty ($17.50) heh. The consistency reminds me of Bare Minerals’ blushes which I liked when I used it but I didn’t like the non-portability of it. These beauty powder blushes are silky & although sheer they’re very buildable.

Since I’m almost out of my ‘Bare Canvas‘ paint I decided to get another eye shadow ‘base’ colour in the paint pot form. ‘Soft Ochre‘ ($16.50). So far I really like it! It’s a little drier than the paints but at least I don’t have the fear of it exploding on me like the tubes tend to do. :P I have a few of these already in various colours & they’re great alone & under eye shadow. You don’t need very much & the pots are pretty big (bigger than the fluidlines) so it’ll last me a long long while.

The last of my MAC purchases is right there with the ‘Pink Grapefruit’ lipglass as far as awesomeness. When the Dazzleglasses came out back in April I wanted most of them but after thinking it over I decided to only get one, ‘Spanking Rich‘ ($16.50). They’re longer than the regular lipglasses & the consistency isn’t as sticky. This shade is fabulous & it’s not as ‘glittery’ or ‘gritty’ as I thought it would be initially. I hope the rumors are true & they make the line permanent!
